The 2020 MLB season is finally here, although it’s extremely condensed. A 60 game season allows for more variability and luck with all aspects of baseball whether it is team record and a subsequent playoff birth or who the eventual World Series champion will be. Individual player statistics will likely have much more noise in the data too. This makes predicting anything for 2020 even more difficult than during a typical season. With that said, let’s take a look at some wild guesses about the 2020 baseball season.
American League MVP
- Mike Trout
- Francisco Lindor
- Alex Bregman (I would have picked Bregman to finish 1st but I don’t see the writers giving MVP to an Astro in 2020 after the trash can scandal).
National League MVP
- Mookie Betts
- Ronald Acuna Jr.
- Christian Yelich
American League Cy Young
- Gerrit Cole
- Tyler Glassnow
National League Cy Young
- Jack Flaherty
- Jacob deGrom
